What is the standard 2026 ikamet harç (residence permit tax) for non-exempt nationalities?
General information, not legal advice. For high-stakes decisions, confirm with the official institution in the next-step below, or consult a qualified Turkish lawyer.
Pending expert review. This fact is sourced but has not yet been reviewed by an independent legal expert. Treat as a starting point.
Effective 1 January 2026, the standard ikamet harç runs on a two-tier scale.
First month (up to 30 days): 348.10 TL per day, with caps — a minimum of 653.70 TL and a maximum of 3,359.90 TL per residence-permit document for that first month.
Each subsequent month: a flat 2,232.30 TL.
Worked example for a 1-year permit at the standard rate: 3,359.90 (first-month cap) + 11 × 2,232.30 = ~28,915.20 TL in harç, plus the separate 964 TL Belge Bedeli (paper fee) = ~29,879.20 TL all in.
Watch-outs
- This is the standard rate. Many countries have their own tabulated harç published as an image on goc.gov.tr — see money-07. Don't assume the standard rate applies to you.
- Some countries are fully exempt under reciprocity — see money-06 for the list.
- Re-check at year-end. The harç is reset every 1 January by a new Harçlar Kanunu Genel Tebliği, and last year's numbers are wrong this year.
- The harç is separate from the 964 TL Belge Bedeli. Both have to be paid; one without the other doesn't complete the application.
Next step
Check which group your nationality falls into before calculating your total cost. The published lists are the source of truth — confirm your specific country with Göç İdaresi at application time, because mid-year Tebliğ amendments do happen and quietly shift bilateral rates.
